03:36 PM EDT, 08/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- India's antitrust body recalled two reports detailing alleged competition law breaches by Apple ( AAPL ) after the iPhone maker complained the agency disclosed "confidential commercial sensitive information" to companies including Match (MTCH), Reuters reported Tuesday, citing an order by the Competition Commission of India.
An investigation that started in 2021 focused on Apple's ( AAPL ) alleged abuse of its market dominance by forcing app developers to use its in-app purchase system at a fee of up to 30%.
The Aug. 7 order of the commission requires all parties, including Match and Indian startup group ADIF, to return the reports to maintain confidentiality, Reuters reported.
"It is imperative that such information be maintained confidential, ensuring that no unauthorized disclosure occurs," the commission said in a four-page order, according to Reuters.
The confidentiality issues involved disclosures about revenue from Apple's ( AAPL ) India app store and market share data, a source familiar with the matter indicated, Reuters said.
Apple ( AAPL ), Match and ADIF didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires, and the Competition Commission of India couldn't be reached for comment.
