Market Chatter: Intel CEO Rejects Claims New Hire Brought TSMC Trade Secrets

10:54 AM EST, 11/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Intel ( INTC ) Chief Executive Lip-Bu Tan dismissed allegations that new hire Lo Wen-jen brought Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing ( TSM ), or TSMC (TSM), trade secrets to Intel ( INTC ), Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing an interview with Tan.

Tan said Intel ( INTC ) respects other companies' intellectual property, according to the report.

Taiwanese media reported the allegations after Lo retired from TSMC and joined Intel ( INTC ). Local prosecutors have begun reviewing the reports to determine if any laws were broken, while TSMC has opened an internal probe into whether any confidential material was taken, Bloomberg said.

TSMC did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Shares of Intel ( INTC ) were down by more than 1%, while shares of TSMC dropped by over 3% in recent Friday trading.
