04:38 AM EDT, 10/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Intel ( INTC ) plans to release technical details of its forthcoming laptop chip, Panther Lake, on Thursday, Reuters reported, citing four sources briefed on the company's plans.
The move aims to reassure investors about the tech giant's first product made entirely using its manufacturing process called 18A, the sources said.
According to the Reuters report on Tuesday, the Panther Lake chips are the first high-volume Intel ( INTC ) products to use the 18A process that the company has spent billions developing.
One of the sources said the new chips consume 30% less power than the previous generation, adding that their graphics and central processors can deliver up to a 50% performance boost in certain workloads.
Partner Lake chips will be available early in 2026, the report said.
Intel ( INTC ) did not immediately respond to an out-of-office hours request for comment from MT Newswires.
