03:57 PM EDT, 03/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Iran's National Security Committee passed a bill that would impose fees on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing Iran's semi-official Fars news agency.
If enacted, the bill would impose a toll system denominated in rials, ban the passage of US and Israeli vessels, and allow Iran to assert sovereignty over the waterway and to bar countries that impose unilateral sanctions, the report said.
