08:12 AM EDT, 08/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Jefferies Financial Group ( JEF ) has instructed its senior investment bankers to collaborate in order to maximize their bonuses, as the firm tries to land bigger corporate clients, The Financial Times reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The move, announced recently to senior employees by President Brian Friedman, is a change in the company's compensation structure, which has historically been based on the value of deals bankers bring in, the report said.
"The message was one of reality, that to properly serve our clients...we must bring the best of Jefferies to them, and the best of Jefferies means whatever is relevant," Friedman told the FT.
Jefferies declined to comment to MT Newswires.
