03:01 PM EDT, 06/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Jefferies Financial Group ( JEF ) is roping in Lazard's ( LAZ ) Rich Thomas to lead its activism defense practice globally under a newly created title, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

Thomas is due to join Jefferies in the coming months and will take on the new title as head of global activism defense, the report said.

Thomas was most recently a managing director and co-head of Lazard's ( LAZ ) equity advisory practice, Bloomberg reported.

Lazard ( LAZ ) declined comment to MT Newswires while Jefferies did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' email requesting comment.
