Market Chatter: JPMorgan Mulls Changes to Emerging Market Bond Index

11:50 AM EDT, 07/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) is mulling changes to its benchmark emerging-market bond index to reduce the weightings of China and India and broaden exposure to other countries, Bloomberg News reported Thursday.

The bank has obtained client feedback on potential amendments to the GBI-EM Global Diversified index, including lowering the cap on individual countries to 8.5% from 10%, Bloomberg said, citing documents.

JPMorgan ( JPM ) is also previewing a new frontier local markets debt index, which would cover 21 markets across 20 currencies, Bloomberg said.

JPMorgan ( JPM ) didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
