12:39 PM EST, 01/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- KKR (KKR) is exploring the sale of Viridor, a UK waste management firm, potentially valuing it at up to 7 billion British pounds ($8.5 billion), including debt, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
KKR is considering options and is consulting advisers about the potential sale, although it could also choose to retain the asset, the people told Bloomberg.
The private equity firm acquired Viridor in 2020 for 4.2 billion pounds.
A representative for KKR declined Bloomberg's comment request.
KKR didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
Shares of KKR were down 5% in recent trading.
