09:51 AM EDT, 05/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- KKR (KKR) is planning to offer remedies to the European Commission in an attempt to get early approval for its potential 22 billion euro ($23.80 billion) purchase of Telecom Italia's (TI, TI.A) landline grid, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing sources with knowledge of the details.
The proposed acquisition is reportedly under scrutiny for effects on prices in the wholesale market by European Union antitrust regulators, who have been seeking feedback from rivals and customers in Italy.
While the remedies are expected to assuage the regulator's concerns and open the path for a June approval, the timing could still change if any issues arise, the sources reportedly told Bloomberg.
The company is expected to file the remedies next week, according to the report.
KKR did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
