Market Chatter: Koninklijke Philips Engages With US Officials on Medical Import Probes
Sep 25, 2025 4:28 AM

07:06 AM EDT, 09/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Koninklijke Philips ( PHG ) is in talks with US policymakers regarding investigations into imports of medical equipment, but doesn't expect any immediate impact from the probes, Reuters reported Thursday.

The report said that the US Commerce Department's new national security investigations, launched earlier this month but not previously disclosed, could lead to higher tariffs on items such as face masks, syringes, and robotics.

Philips told Reuters that the situation is still developing, with several possible outcomes.

Philips did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Shares of the company were down 2.4% in Thursday's premarket activity.
