Market Chatter: Live Nation Close to Justice Department Settlement That Avoids Divestiture of Ticketmaster Unit
Mar 11, 2026 6:57 AM

05:04 AM EDT, 03/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Live Nation Entertainment ( LYV ) is nearing the settlement of a federal antitrust lawsuit alleging that the company illegally monopolized the live music industry, though it won't be required to sell its Ticketmaster unit, Bloomberg News reported Monday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

Under the proposed settlement, Ticketmaster would eliminate some exclusivity in ticketing contracts with concert venues while also making some concessions around the use of its amphitheaters, the news outlet reported, citing some of the sources.

The 2024 lawsuit by the US Department of Justice had sought to break up Live Nation by forcing a sale of Ticketmaster, according to the report.

A final deal could be announced in the coming days, the unnamed sources told Bloomberg.

The company and the DOJ didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
