02:45 PM EDT, 03/13/2026 (MT Newswires) -- LyondellBasell Industries ( LYB ) said that a fire at its Bayport Choate chemical plant in Texas had been contained and there were no injuries, Reuters reported Friday.

The company said that the fire occurred at about 9 pm local time on Thursday and that it was receiving support from the Channel Industries Mutual Aid and firefighting teams from surrounding areas, according to the report.

LyondellBasell did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
