07:10 AM EDT, 09/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Marathon Petroleum ( MPC ) and the Teamsters union remain at a standstill in labor negotiations as a new labor agreement stagnates and the strike at the Detroit refinery enters its third week, Reuters reported Tuesday.
Despite recent mediation efforts, no agreement has been reached, Reuters said, citing the company's spokesperson.
Marathon said no further negotiation meetings are scheduled but that they are in "regular communication" with the federal mediator, the report said. Meanwhile, Teamsters Local 283 leader Steve Hicks said Marathon representatives walked away from talks over the weekend and canceled the next session, Reuters reported.
Marathon Petroleum ( MPC ) and Teamsters union did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
