01:32 PM EDT, 08/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Mastercard ( MA ) intends to cut 3% of its staff worldwide, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing a company spokesperson.

The cuts would amount to about 1,000 people, according to the report, which cited Mastercard's ( MA ) reported employee headcount at the end of 2023. The majority of the job cuts are expected to be completed before Sept. 30, Bloomberg reported, citing the spokesperson.

Mastercard ( MA ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
