08:41 AM EDT, 08/01/2025 (MT Newswires) -- McDonald's (MCD) plans to significantly increase its investments in artificial intelligence by 2027, Reuters reported Friday, citing a senior company executive.
"We're still in the early stages, so it's hard to pin down the exact investment," Deshant Kaila, McDonald's head of Global Business Services operations, told Reuters.
McDonald's is currently utilizing AI to verify orders in 400 restaurants, and anticipates that the expansion could reach 40,000 locations by 2027, said Durga Prakash, head of technology (global offices), according to Reuters.
The company views India as an important hub for data governance, engineering, and platform architecture in its AI ramp-up, the report added.
