06:55 AM EDT, 06/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- McDonald's (MCD) is maintaining its core inclusion programs despite backlash towards its diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI, initiatives, Bloomberg News reported, citing McDonald's USA Chief Field People Officer Jordann Nunn.
Earlier this year, the fast-food giant retired "aspirational representation goals" for its workforce and a diversity pledge for its supply chain. It also adopted the "inclusion" terminology instead of DEI, though it has kept several other programs intact, according to the report.
"We changed some of the language that we've used it around it, but at the core none of our programming has changed," Bloomberg reported, citing Nunn. "We have no intention of doing that."
McDonald's didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
