07:20 AM EDT, 06/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- MercadoLibre ( MELI ) is expanding free shipping in Brazil as it looks to spur sales amid increasing competition, Reuters reported Friday, citing a company official.

Reuters said Fernando Yunes, head of MercadoLibre's ( MELI ) e-commerce operations in Brazil, told journalists that "practically the entire site will have free shipping from now on" and that the company will absorb the costs.

MercadoLibre ( MELI ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
