Market Chatter: Merck Agrees to Halt Gardasil Trial Until September
Feb 18, 2025 12:46 PM

03:17 PM EST, 02/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Merck ( MRK ) and a plaintiff suing the company over its human papillomavirus vaccine, Gardasil, have agreed to halt a trial after four weeks of proceedings, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing a company statement.

The plaintiff, Jennifer Robi, alleges that the vaccine caused her impaired mobility.

On Friday, the plaintiff's lawyers proposed discharging the jury and adjourning the case, and Merck ( MRK ) agreed, provided that no financial or other consideration was exchanged, according to the news outlet.

Merck ( MRK ) and Robi plan to reconvene with a new jury in a Los Angeles state court in September, the report added.

Merck ( MRK ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
