06:11 AM EDT, 06/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg is prioritizing putting together a team of experts to achieve artificial general intelligence, Bloomberg News reported, citing people familiar with his plans.

Zuckerberg intends to hire roughly 50 people for the new team, including a new AI research head, according to the report. He aims to beat other tech companies in achieving artificial general intelligence, the unnamed sources told the news outlet.

Meta did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
