07:06 AM EDT, 08/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) is facing calls for a congressional investigation from two Republican US senators following a report on an internal policy allowing the company's chatbots to engage children in romantic or sensual conversations, Reuters reported Thursday.

Meta has since removed portions of the document that stated it is permissible for chatbots to flirt and engage in romantic roleplay with children, the report said.

Meta didn't immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
