06:47 AM EST, 01/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) "for now" will continue using its fact checkers outside of the US, the company's head of global business, Nicola Mendelsohn, told Bloomberg Television in an interview on Monday.

Meta's chief executive officer, Mark Zuckerberg, said this month that the company is planning to replace third-party fact-checkers in the US with a community notes system, citing the "too many mistakes" made by complex systems and unfair censorship of users.

"So nothing changing in the rest of the world at the moment, we are still working with those fact checkers around the world," Mendelsohn told the outlet.

Meta Platforms ( META ) did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
