05:31 AM EDT, 06/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) has hired three OpenAI researchers for its advanced artificial intelligence efforts, The Wall Street Journal reported late Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The social media giant has hired Lucas Beyer, Alexander Kolesnikov, and Xiaohua Zhai, who were working in OpenAI's office in Zurich, the unnamed sources told the publication.

The three researchers have left OpenAI, the WSJ reported, citing a company spokeswoman.

Meta and Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
