02:04 PM EDT, 06/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) is recruiting engineers from rival technology companies, including Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) as it seeks to form a team to develop artificial general intelligence, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Google DeepMind's principal researcher Jack Rae will likely join Meta's team, the people reportedly said.

The company also hired Johan Schalkwyk from Sesame AI and Scale AI Chief Executive Alexandr Wang is also expected to join Meta after it invests in the data labeling startup, the report said.

Meta, Google ( GOOG ), Sesame AI and Scale AI did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
