06:43 AM EDT, 04/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) is lobbying the White House for a deal to avoid the company facing an antitrust trial scheduled to begin on April 14, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter.

Meta officials and lawyers have met with Trump and senior advisers before the Federal Trade Commission trial that could force the company to shed WhatsApp and Instagram, the Journal reported.

The details of the possible settlement were not clear, the report said.

Meta and the White House did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
