05:40 AM EDT, 04/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) is preparing to unwind its acquisition of AI startup Manus after Chinese authorities blocked the deal on national security grounds, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter.
Meta had acquired the Singapore-based, China-linked startup in December and began integrating its AI agent technology into its systems, the report said.
The unwind could be complicated as investors have already received returns and some backers have indicated they would cooperate in reversing the deal, according to the report.
Meta Platforms ( META ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
