Market Chatter: Meta Platforms Names Connor Hayes as Head of Threads
Jul 17, 2025 10:11 AM

12:58 PM EDT, 07/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) appointed Connor Hayes as head of Threads, Axios reported Thursday, citing a staff memo.

Hayes replaces Adam Mosseri, who is the head of Instagram and has overseen Threads since its inception, according to the report.

"Given Threads' maturity, we think we need a dedicated app lead who can focus all of their time on helping Threads move forward," Mosseri said in the memo.

Hayes will start his new role by mid-September and will report to Mosseri directly, the report added.

Meta did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
