02:34 PM EST, 12/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) intends to launch Ray-Ban smart glasses with displays as early as H2 2025, the Financial Times reported Monday, citing people familiar with the plans.

The screens will likely display notifications or responses from Meta's virtual assistant, according to the people.

The company is also accelerating the development of augmented-reality glasses Orion following positive response from early testers though any launch is years away, the people said.

Meta did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
