06:33 AM EST, 02/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms Inc ( META ) plans to launch its artificial intelligence tool as a standalone app in Q2, CNBC reported Thursday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter.

Meta hopes the step will bolster the company's position in artificial intelligence by the end of 2025, the report said.

The company also plans to begin testing a paid subscription service for Meta AI for more powerful versions of the software, the company said.

Meta did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
