03:38 PM EDT, 05/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) is planning to develop earphones with cameras that will use artificial intelligence to identify objects and translate foreign languages, the Information reported Monday, citing the company's three current employees.

Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg has viewed several potential designs for the device, internally known as Camerabuds, but was not satisfied, one of the sources reportedly said.

The final design is unclear including whether the device will be in-ear earbuds or over-the-ear headphones, according to the report.
