01:04 PM EST, 01/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) is scrapping its corporate diversity program, Axios reported Friday, citing a company memo.
Meta's vice president of human resources, Janelle Gale, wrote in the memo that the company was shifting course because the "legal and policy landscape surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in the US is changing," the report said.
The company will no longer have a team focused on DEI, and Maxine Williams, the chief diversity officer, will take on a new role, Axios reported.
Meta didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
