05:26 PM EST, 01/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Meta (META) plans to cut 10% of jobs in its Reality Labs division, Bloomberg reported late Tuesday.

Layoffs are expected to happen this week, according to the source.

Budget cuts of up to 30% were discussed for the metaverse unit in December, Bloomberg reported.

Meta is shifting from some virtual reality metaverse projects to AI wearables.

Meta didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
