08:40 AM EDT, 04/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms' ( META ) Instagram is developing "Creator A.I.," an artificial intelligence program to help influencers engage with fans more efficiently, the New York Times reported Monday, citing five people briefed on the company's plans.

The chatbot-like feature mimics Instagram influencers' voices, using their previous posts, comments, direct messages, and audio from Instagram stories and reels to respond to fans, the report said.

Most messages from the program would be automatically sent, with initial disclosure that they were A.I.-generated, two people told the newspaper.

Meta plans to showcase its new A.I. developments at an upcoming event and has already sent invitations to some influencers, two people familiar with Meta's plan told the New York Times.

Meta did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
