08:58 AM EDT, 07/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT ) is offering bonuses to some of its sales staff after a recent round of layoffs, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing a company document.
Employees whose annual payout "was affected by systemic challenges or financial performance outcomes outside their control" will be paid as if they reached a higher percentage of their quotas, Bloomberg reported, quoting the document.
"As standard practice, each year we assess incentive compensation in relation to financial outcomes to ensure we are taking care of our sellers, managers and sales leaders," a Microsoft ( MSFT ) spokesperson told Bloomberg.
The company has terminated around 15,000 workers in recent months and said it planned to use third-party firms to handle more of the software sales to small and midsize customers, according to the report.
Microsoft ( MSFT ) did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
