Market Chatter: Microsoft Plans to Launch AI Marketplace for Publishers
Sep 24, 2025 4:49 AM

07:34 AM EDT, 09/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT ) is planning to launch a two-sided artificial intelligence marketplace for publishers, Axios reported late Tuesday, citing publishing executives familiar with the matter.

Microsoft ( MSFT ) is already in talks with certain US publishers about launching a pilot program for its planned "Publisher Content Marketplace," the report said.

The marketplace will compensate publishers for their content used by AI products, starting with Microsoft's ( MSFT ) Copilot assistant serving as the first AI buyer, the report said.

The company discussed the pilot program last week at its event in Monaco, did not provide a specific timeline for its launch, the report said.

Microsoft ( MSFT ) looks to include other AI products to expand the marketplace's demand-side offering, the report added.

Microsoft ( MSFT ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
