Market Chatter: Microsoft to Train 1 Million South Africans on AI & Cybersecurity by 2026

02:33 PM EST, 01/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT ) plans to provide artificial intelligence and cybersecurity training to 1 million people in South Africa by 2026, Reuters reported Thursday, citing Lillian Barnard, president for Microsoft Africa.

The company's AI national skilling will prioritize all sectors including companies, government and youth, Barnard said at the company's AI tour in Johannesburg, according to the report.

Microsoft ( MSFT ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
