02:44 PM EDT, 10/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI and Bain are extending their partnership to sell OpenAI's ChatGPT and other AI tools to the consulting firm's clients, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
The companies started a sales partnership in 2023 and in August 13,000 Bain consultants got licenses for ChatGPT Enterprise, according to the report.
Under the deal, a team will develop industry-specific AI tools for different sectors including retail and life sciences, Bain's worldwide managing partner and Chief Executive Christophe De Vusser reportedly said. The consulting firm will dedicate 50 employees to the effort, the report said.
Neither OpenAI nor Bain immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
