Joshua Kushner's Thrive Capital is leading the investment round with about $1 billion and will be the biggest funding round since Microsoft ( MSFT ) invested $10 billion in the ChatGPT maker in early 2023, the news outlet reported.
It could not be determined what other investors are participating in the funding round, The Journal said.
OpenAI and Thrive did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
