03:11 PM EDT, 03/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI and Meta Platforms ( META ) are both seeking to ally with Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries for potential artificial intelligence product and sales partnership, The Information reported Saturday, citing various sources.

OpenAI is targeting for Reliance businesses to distribute or sell its AI products, including ChatGPT on its wireless carrier Jio, two of the sources told the tech news publication. Meanwhile, Meta is also aiming to work with the Indian business giant on new AI businesses, a Meta employee told the news outlet.

Reliance has explored running OpenAI and Meta models in a planned 3-gigawatt center it is building in Jamnagar, India, one of the sources said.

Microsoft ( MSFT ), Meta, and Reliance did not immediately reply to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
