08:30 AM EST, 11/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI's board member Larry Summers said he will resign from the startup's board following publication of emails between him and Jeffrey Epstein, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to have served, excited about the potential of the company, and look forward to following their progress," Summers said in a statement to CNBC.

"Larry has decided to resign from the OpenAI Board of Directors, and we respect his decision," multiple reports quoted the OpenAI board as saying in a statement.
