07:10 AM EDT, 07/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft's ( MSFT ) recent partnership with UAE's AI firm G42 is at risk over Washington's national security concerns, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.

The US software giant agreed earlier this year to invest $1.5 billion in G42 in exchange for the UAE company promise to cut its ties with Chinese companies, the report said. Pentagon officials doubt this will happen, the report cited people familiar with the matter as saying.

US officials are also concerned about foreign access to sensitive US networks in light of Microsoft's ( MSFT ) recent cybersecurity issues, the report said.

Microsoft ( MSFT ) did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
