12:04 PM EST, 11/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) Chief Executive Elon Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI is expected to close a $15 billion fundraising round next month at a pre-money valuation of $230 billion, CNBC reported Tuesday, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
Investors have until the end of the day on Tuesday to secure their allocation, and the round is set to close on Dec. 19, the report added.
This matches earlier CNBC reporting that xAI was raising $15 billion, a claim Musk dismissed as false on X, his social media platform. At the time, sources said much of the new capital would go toward buying graphics processing units, which are essential for training large language models, the report noted.
xAI didn't immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
