07:24 AM EDT, 09/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nasdaq (NDAQ) is set to invest $50 million in cryptocurrency exchange Gemini Space Station through a private placement as part of a partnership between the companies, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing two sources familiar with the matter.
The partnership will give Nasdaq clients access to Gemini's custody and staking services, while Gemini's institutional clients will also gain access to Nasdaq's Calypso platform for managing and tracking trading collateral, according to the report.
Gemini has secured Nasdaq as a strategic investor ahead of its initial public offering, which could raise up to $317 million for the cryptocurrency exchange.
Gemini expects to start trading on Nasdaq under the ticker "GEMI" on Friday, Reuters said.
Nasdaq and Gemini Space Station did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
