02:10 PM EDT, 10/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Netflix ( NFLX ) is no longer developing a so-called Triple A video game as it narrows its focus on producing casual games instead, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.
The company dropped plans to develop a blockbuster video game less than a year into the process and has let go of about 30 people in Southern California who were working on a multiplayer shooter title.
Netflix's ( NFLX ) video game would have been available across devices, including on smartphones, tablets, and TVs.
While the company is not developing its own title, it may put Triple-A games from third parties on its platform, the report said, citing a company spokesperson.
Netflix ( NFLX ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
