07:00 AM EDT, 07/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Netflix ( NFLX ) has held talks with Spotify ( SPOT ) about collaborating on a number of projects, including a music awards show and a live concert series, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, quoting people close to the conversations.

The companies have also explored ideas for high-profile celebrity interviews and quick-turnaround documentaries that capture current events, the report said.

Netflix ( NFLX ) is also reviving the classic talent competition "Star Search," the report said.

A new music-focused show, "Building the Band," is set to premiere next week, with another music competition planned for release in the coming months, the report said.

Netflix ( NFLX ), Spotify ( SPOT ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
