12:36 PM EDT, 05/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ares Management ( ARES ) and Carlyle Group ( CG ) are among investors the National Football League is looking to pre-approve to own minority stakes in teams, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing unnamed people with knowledge of the matter.
Other firms include Arctos Partners, Avenue Capital Group, and CVC Capital Partners, the report added.
The league's goal is to pre-approve a set of investors who can buy minority stakes in teams, provided the current owners also give their consent, the report said, adding that the list has not been finalized yet.
Carlyle Group ( CG ), Arctos Partners, Avenue Capital Group, and CVC Capital Partners didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment. Ares Management ( ARES ) declined to comment.
