01:38 PM EDT, 03/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia ( NVDA ) has acquired Gretel, a venture-backed startup that produces synthetic data used by artificial intelligence companies to train their applications, Wired reported Wednesday citing people with direct knowledge of the deal.

The report said the chipmaker acquired the startup in a deal that values Gretel above $320 million without specifying the exact amount.

A Nvidia ( NVDA ) spokesperson declined to comment when contacted by MT Newswires on Wednesday. Gretel and other investors in the company did not immediately return messages.

Nvidia ( NVDA ) shares were nearly 2% higher in recent trading.
