Market Chatter: Nvidia CEO Says Robotics Will Be South Korea's Next Major Industry
Jun 5, 2026 3:37 AM

06:02 AM EDT, 06/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia ( NVDA ) CEO Jensen Huang said Friday that robotics will be South Korea's next major growth sector, citing the country's strengths in manufacturing, mechatronics, and artificial intelligence, Reuters reported.

Speaking after arriving at Gimpo International Airport from Taiwan, Huang said South Korea's position as a global manufacturing hub makes it well suited to deploy robotics and physical AI technologies across industries, according to Reuters.

He added that semiconductor manufacturing will become increasingly automated and AI-driven, creating opportunities for Nvidia ( NVDA ) to work more closely with Korean chipmakers.

During his visit, Huang plans to meet with executives from Hyundai Motor, LG, SK Hynix, Samsung Electronics, and Naver, the report said.

Nvidia ( NVDA ) has begun hiring staff for a research and development center in South Korea and plans to establish the facility once it has built a sufficient local workforce, Reuters said, citing Huang.
