07:12 AM EDT, 08/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia ( NVDA ) is considering participating in a funding round for OpenAI and has discussed investing about $100 million in the artificial intelligence startup, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

This latest funding round would value OpenAI at over $100 billion, with Apple ( AAPL ) and Microsoft ( MSFT ) also in discussions to potentially join, the report said. Microsoft ( MSFT ) has already invested about $13 billion in the startup.

Representatives from Nvidia ( NVDA ) and OpenAI did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
