06:44 AM EST, 12/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- NVIDIA ( NVDA ) has expanded its workforce in China, increasing the headcount to 4,000 employees from around 3,000 at the start of the year. This includes 200 new hires who joined the autonomous driving technologies research team in Beijing, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people familiar with its operations.

The report said that NVIDIA ( NVDA ) is also growing its after-sales service and networking software teams in China and recently opened a new office in Beijing's Zhongguancun tech hub.

The report said NVIDIA ( NVDA ) is increasing its workforce globally amid growing demand for its artificial intelligence chips. The company employs nearly 30,000 people in 36 countries.

NVIDIA ( NVDA ) did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
