Market Chatter: Nvidia, Oracle Urge Trump Administration to Reevaluate AI Chip Export Restrictions
Mar 25, 2025 4:34 AM

07:00 AM EDT, 03/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech companies like Nvidia ( NVDA ) , Oracle (ORCL), and foreign government officials are urging the Trump administration to reconsider its upcoming restrictions on AI chip exports, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The AI diffusion rule, which limits the export of certain AI processors, has reportedly prompted tech giants and senior officials from Israel and Poland, who fear it could disrupt access to critical semiconductor supplies.

The new rule, which takes effect on May 15, has raised concerns about its potential negative impact on AI development and investment globally, the news outlet reported.

Governments and companies are advocating for the administration to revise or ease these restrictions before the compliance deadline, the media outlet quoted the sources as saying.

The White House, Commerece Department, Nvidia ( NVDA ), and Oracle, did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
